In 2017, the Horse Boy Foundation offered the first Horse Boy and Movement Method training in Colombia.

Autism diagnosis has been constantly increasing in this Andean country and the need for effective education strategies for autistic children and young adults is on the rise.

Our trainer, Julian Granados, together with trainer Julia Guth, and with the help of the Jumpa-Jump foundation and the Gimnasio-Guilford school, offered 2 trainings in Julian´s native country.

Twelve participants took part in the first-ever Movement Method training in the small city of Cota, a few kilometres outside the capital city, Bogotá. Parents, therapists and teachers were trained in the movement method principles, learned the concepts and the neuro-science behind the method, and gaves us valuable feedback on the cultural aspects to keep in mind while working in a Latin American setting. Eight other participants were trained in Horse Boy Method 1, and the first Horse Boy Horses in Colombia went through a steep learning curve.

Both workshops were a complete success! Reaction to both Horse Boy and Movement Method was very positive and there are plans to organize trainings in other Colombia cities in 2018.

We are looking forward to the Horse Boy´s next steps in Colombia and the rest of South America!
