The people I call friends and colleagues are some of my most treasured gifts.
The privilege to be able to call on the collective wisdom and care of this rich bevy of humans is something I’m not ever going to be worthy of – but I can be grateful.

Being a boarder at the United States Air Force Academy, I received this message from our barn management:
It is with a heavy heart that I am leaving everything familiar and well-loved behind. But what opportunity and adventure lie ahead.
At the first-ever Hay Bale Ball in Aspen, Colorado, invited guests ate and drank in support of our wonderful place, Smiling Goat Ranch, which implements a wonderful thing: The Horse Boy Method. It was a good time with people who have many things in common – especially big hearts. And this good time allowed us to spread the word about our work to entirely new group of people.
