I have been gone for a long time. I had to do that. I want to come back now, though. I am doing it, inch by inch. I cannot explain my absence, but... Show more

I feel like I come most alive inside myself when I am listening to music that I love. Likewise, I feel like I am tolerating life and tolerating existing at all when I am listening to music that I don't prefer. I suspect that sometimes I am addicted to music. Almost every day at some point after I've gotten off work, I want to get on Youtube and listen to some music that appeals to me at that time. Even as I wrote this, I was listening to music. Do I have a problem? How/What do you feel when you listen to music?

That is what I have heard other people, Cisco. Self love. I guess that's even what Kristin is talking about with her message of self compassion. Thank you!

I find that I have never been in a serious relationship with a significant other. It seems that no girl has ever been interested in me because I am just too different. I feel very discouraged over this sometimes. I even have dreams about it sometimes. In my life, I feel it is a thing that I want, and that is why I feel the way I do about it. Do you feel a desire to be in love with a special someone?

I am not sure. I never really thought about it when I was that age. I think clothes were security for me. I wanted to feel safe. Always.

It was the joy. I could tangibly hear joy in within it, in the music, in the voices of the vocalists. I had felt that same joy in a lot of the hymns from church that I heard when I was small. This joy had a lot of the colors of the world in it though. I started to sense the diversity of the world. Another moment where I felt that was when I saw an imax documentary about Mount Kilimanjaro. I think they used Ennio Morricone's "On Earth As It Is In Heaven" in that. I also heard it in The Lion King. There was just so much joy, energy, and happiness in that music.
For years I tried to listen to music like that and then play it by ear on the piano, trying desperately to recreate it by my own hand. It wasn't until I was much older and my skills on the piano had developed that that finally happened. I felt the joy. I knew it was now inside me too. The joy of being human, and a part of the human race, the joy of music, and the joy of God were all intertwined for me at the piano.
