Be With Horses is all about fulfilling the heart, mind, and spirit by spending time with a horse.
My clients receive person-centered equine-assisted coaching that uses learning about horse/human communication and relationships, horse care, safety around horses, and stable management to promote:
- self-awareness and confidence
- social communication and interaction
- self-advocacy and empowerment
- self-regulation and stress reduction.
Most of the work is done on the ground, but there's an option for a guided ride in the paddock. Family members are encouraged to be involved as much as they choose to. With clients who are beginning the transition to independent living as adults, having family members stay home for some sessions provides a wholly new and exciting opportunity to do something on their own, and begin the bridge to self-reliance.
I am certified in Autism Spectrum Disorders, am a parent of an adult child with Asperger's, and have over thirty years experience with horses. Along with equine-related coaching, I provide life-skills coaching in clients' homes, schools, and community settings.
I also present staff trainings on autism-related topics and develop learning materials for people on the autism spectrum. I contract with families, academic institutions, and nonprofits, and consult with professionals in private practice.
