Handibear Hills Horse Sanctuary adopts and cares for abandoned horses, using
them to teach horsemanship and stable management to adults and children.
Handibear Hills has been pursuing these objectives for 30 years, and currently has a 21 stall barn with paddocks. There are 27 horses and ponies in residence this year.
I do not own this great rescue, I am just lucky to be a part of it. A few year ago when I was looking for a welcoming environment for my son, who has autism, to do some trail riding and have fun with horses I contacted Yogi at Handibear hills, and she welcomed us with open arms.
I just started my Horse Boy training last year and this summer we will offer play dates and trail rides at Handibear Hills.
