I would like to take a moment to introduce myself.  My name is Beth Cerda.  I am the mother of a 15 year old son who has the diagnosis of Asperger’s Syndrome and ADD.  A few years ago, I read the book The Horse Boy by Rupert Isaacson. I had the honor and privilege of having Rupert come to my home town in Delaware, OH to do a screening and talk with the local community about his adventure, book and movie.    Since that time, I have had the opportunity to watch Rupert and his assistant Iliane, develop the experience into a workable therapy through the use of horses and environmental accommodations.

I have spent time at demos, trainings and at the Horse Boy Foundations location in Elgin, TX.  Throughout these times and in spite of the fact that I live in an urban sub-division and do not have any horses, I have learned a lot about the Horse Boy Method.  I have personally observed a difference in kiddos that have been immersed into this therapy (including my own).  I walked into the program with some doubts.  After walking away, I am a true believer that this method is different.  I have seen some of the other methods and truly believe that they are all great!  If I lived in a perfect world, I would be able to walk into a therapy location and see all the perfect parts of every therapy being used for all our special people.

What I am asking you to do is take a serious look at this method.  I think that you would be as pleased as I have been when I have been immersed into the special environment.  In a nut shell, this method brings the therapy to your kids.  The Horseboy Methodincludes the family and care-givers in the entire process.  The main focus is to insure that both the special needs person AND the parents/family walk away feeling like their life is being touched in a freeing, compassionate and patient way.  This is why Self Compassion is also incorporated into every aspect of the process.

If you aren’t convinced, please take a moment to watch this short video.
