Autism is not a problem to be fixed. Autism is a series of gifts to be celebrated. However no matter who you are if you have sensory and neurological challenges that result in behaviors, that impair every day life, development and happiness then obviously these need to be ameliorated.
Compassionate Behavioral Approach, unlike traditional ABA, addresses the root neurological and sensory causes of behavioral issues and therefore brings lasting improvement and functionality without using force, shame, demanding compliance or in any way making the child feel inadequate. Quite the opposite, CBA let's the autistic child know why their autism is so cool, informs them how their brain and nervous system works, eliminates the negative sensory triggers, that impair learning and creates a mosaic for lasting quality of life, and success as a happy, functional, autistic person able to offer their many gifts to society.
